Our Perfect 8’x4′ Garden!

What fun we had making our garden today! It is just the perfect size for our lil’ family! My dad is our family gardener, so he came over to help…

Step 1 - galvanized wood

Step 2 - Dig up dirt

Step 3 - chop up big clumps

Step 4 - trailer of top soil

Fill in the area

Lots of dirt

Worms tunnel deeply in the soil and bring subsoil closer to the surface mixing it with the topsoil. Slime, a secretion of earthworms, contains nitrogen. Nitrogen is an important nutrient for plants. The sticky slime helps to hold clusters of soil particles together in formations called aggregates.

    Row 3: 1/2 carrots and 1/2 lettuce

Row 4:  empty as we will use this for our beanstalk fence

Row 5: Beanstalk seeds:-)  once they are bigger we will add a fence for them to grow!

And to make the day more perfect… Grandma dropped off our anniversary flowers!
