Mumma made it Blog: Remembering Salt Clay

June 4, 2010 at 3:19 am | Posted in Summer 2010 | 2 Comments

I was reading the mumma made it blog and  it explained how to make salt clay — I could kinda remember doing this in school about hmm… 25+ years ago… but I forgot how to make it. . .   Her blog provided all the details:  IT IS EASY: 2 cups of plain flour, 1 cup salt. 1 cup of warm water and mix well! Shape and bake on 170 for three hours. I remembered it being much harder 25+ years ago…lol! One thing I do remember the same is that it is a lot of fun!  There’s nothing better than creating in clay and then being able to keep it forever once it dries!

You can add food coloring into the mixture or paint it when it hardens…  We will add some sparkle paint tomorrow night!  They are perfect to hang in the window or you could add a magnet and put them on your frig! We will be doing this again soon… next time we are going to make all different color clays and design some flower magnets!

This was a “Brianna Approved” Kiddo Project!  Thanks Mumma Made It!

We decorated both sides -- that was fun!

After three hours in the oven -- pretty dry but will need to set overnight.
