The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 3,100 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

How Quickly They Grow

September 6, 2012 at 7:09 am | Posted in Fall 2012 | 1 Comment

I just love looking back at how quickly Brianna has grown.  Many times I feel like she just started preschool and now she’s off to 1st Grade. She will never understand how proud I am of her:-)

Each day is a gift… cherish every moment.

Have fun in 1st Grade big girl!

End of the Year Project for Teachers!

May 23, 2012 at 1:43 am | Posted in Summer 2012 | Leave a comment

The end of the school year is approaching quickly!  Brianna wanted to make her teachers’ and aftercare helpers’ a special card!  We came up with a handprint flower theme together!

It was a very fun project for a Kindergartner!

Supplies: construction paper, washable paint (red, yellow and green), paint brushes and glue:-) We printed out the card saying to save time because we had to make 5!

Saying: I wanted to give you a flower…

But you deserve a bunch!  Thanks for a great year!

1) start with the inside of the card(s).  Create two yellow prints on both sides. Wash off yellow paint and create the red print.

2) paint green stems

3) glue on saying

4) sign name

5) add a plain paper in between and fold together (just in case inside paint is not dry)

6) add one print on the front cover

7) paint green stem

8) glue on saying!

bunny piñata to puppy for the puppy party

April 9, 2012 at 11:45 pm | Posted in Spring 2012 | Leave a comment

Brianna wants a puppy themed birthday party this year.   Her Birthday is not until June but we have been watching for some deals:-)  Today at WalMart we found a bunny piñata for 50% off. We decided we would try to make it into a puppy!  Why not for $5?

We trimmed it’s ears and used the ears to fill the area over the holes.  Then we removed the pink nose and put black felt nose. We placed red felt for a tongue over the tooth and lastly we glued on some felt dog ears!

He’s a cutie!

Ok, I love Brianna’s CC dresses… This one was purchased in 2009 and still in perfect shape.  You will see it has been played in hard as well:-)

Chocolate Covered Peeps! Kid Approved!

Off to a party and luckily we saw a friend make these a few days ago.  It helped us decide what to bring to our first Eater gathering:-)

All we did was dip the ends and place in sprinkles… Keep in the frig after and MMMMM!  So good – hope they make it to the party.

Dr. Suess: Happy Birthday Party

March 4, 2012 at 4:55 am | Posted in Winter 2012 | 2 Comments

My little one has been ill all week with a bad bug and strep throat.  I wanted to do something to cheer her up, so while she was napping I set the kitchen up for a Dr. Suess Birthday Party (a few days late)!

I printed out a bunch of free activities from PBS Kids, and thought jello would be a mild cake for a tummy bug.  She didn’t touch it yet!

This was the most I’ve seen her smile in days…  I sure hope she’s back to herself tomorrow!
